"We want Manitobans to ride big and live big for the Heart&Stroke Big Bike events," says Heather Carroll, community fundraising programs manager. "Ride big on the giant bike, raise funds to help fight heart disease and stroke, and live big - by registering for Big Bike online, fundraisers are automatically entered to win a dream vacation."
The Big Bike runs under the steam of 29 riders and follows a two to three kilometre course which takes about 20 minutes to complete. Teams can be made up of colleagues, friends, and family members who each collect personal pledges prior to the event.
Last year more than 80 teams in Manitoba rode the Big Bike and raised over $220,000. These dollars supported the Foundation's mission to reduce Canadians' rate of death from heart disease and stroke by 25 per cent, by the year 2020.
The Heart&Stroke Big Bike will be in the following communities in September; Minnedosa, September 16, Gladstone and Austin, September 26, MacGregor, September 27.
The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s mission is to prevent disease, save lives and promote recovery. A volunteer-based health charity, we strive to tangibly improve the health of every Canadian family, every day. Healthy lives free of heart disease and stroke. Together we will make it happen.
Dairy Farmers of Canada is proud to be the national presenting sponsor for the Heart&Stroke Big Bike.
