Winnipeg, Manitoba – Liberal leader Rana Bokhari has reiterated her position that the PC lawsuit against the NDP government was frivolous from the start and a waste of taxpayer dollars. While this costly political theatre played out in the courts, the Liberal leader has been listening to Manitobans from across the province and building real solutions to the challenges they face.
“The Liberal Party is committed to doing politics differently,” explained Bokhari. “While Brian Pallister and his team of lawyers were clogging the courts to fight the NDP, I’ve been talking to Manitobans about the issues that matter to them. We’ve talked about holding this NDP government to account for every dollar of this PST hike that should be going towards much-needed infrastructure instead of unaccountable spending habits.”
Bokhari explained that she is looking forward to giving the people of Manitoba the chance to pass judgment on the bickering NDP and Conservatives in the upcoming election. “Manitoba can do better than the petty political theatre put on by Mr. Pallister’s Conservatives and Mr. Selinger’s NDP. For too long Manitoba voters have had to choose between the lesser of two bad choices.”
The Liberal leader says her party is not interested in political games. Instead, the Liberals are working to offer Manitobans a better, more accountable and transparent option in the next election.
