Kenneth Rodger Gardiner was born April 22, 1929 in Winnipeg Manitoba. He was the 6th child of Joseph and May Gardiner.
The family moved to the farm in Lakeland when Ken was 4. He attended school at South Lakeside.
During WWII the family moved to MacDonald and Ken attended school there. After the War the family moved back to the farm in Lakeland. After his schooling Ken worked at the Gladstone Garage. Then he worked for his brother Roy on Road Construction and Logging. On Nov 1, 1952 he married Noreen Robertshaw and he and his father farmed
together. He also worked carving. He even took up as a carpenter for a time baking pies and donuts at with his brother-in-law Jim the age of 80.
Weber. During that time he He is predeceased also ran an Open Tractor by his wife Noreen in
Snow Plow for the Lakeland 2000; siblings Bill, Albert Area. Ken’s passion was (Curly), Em, Roy and
farming with his sons and Beatrice; and brother- he continued to do so up to in-law Les Robertshaw. and including this spring. He is survived by 2 Sons,
Ken’s hobbies included Wayne (Colleen) and Bruce fishing, snowmobiling, (Heather); granddaughters square dancing and wood Roxann (Dale Knox) Dana
(Curtis Knox) and Holly (Tyler Bonchuk); great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Alexa, and Rebecca Knox and Jase Bonchuk as well as special friend Ruth Emish; sisters-in-law Pat Gardiner, Lylia Gardiner and Pat Robertshaw as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 2:30 pm at the Grace Lutheran Church, Langruth with Rev. Phyllis Thordarson officiating. Final Resting Place is Lakeland Cemetery.
