Neepawa Manitoba Youth Job Centre Ready To Serve

Comments

The Neepawa Manitoba Youth Job Centre is open once again for the summer!

Centres across Manitoba are in their 39th year of successfully supporting youth employment in Manitoba. The Neepawa Manitoba Youth Job Centre (MYJC) is sponsored by Manitoba Children and Youth Opportunities in partnership with the Neepawa Chamber of Commerce and serves the communities of Neepawa, Arden, Birnie, Eden, Franklin, Riding Mountain, and Brookdale.

My name is Taylor Aitken and I am the Neepawa and area MYJC Youth Engagement Leader for the summer of 2014. I was born in Neepawa, but have resided in Ontario for most of my young adult life. I love working with youth so I am very excited to be back in the area getting to support our young people in being engaged within the community!

The MYJC is designed to meet the employment needs of students and youth, as well as the needs of employers who have vacant positions to fill, by offering a free referral service to those who wish to hire an eager, hard-working young person. Employers of all types – business and household – can take advantage of the free services the Centre provides. Only the most qualified candidates are referred, and the employer always has the final hiring decision.

We encourage students and youth over the age of 12 to register with our office. If you are seeking full-time, part-time, or casual employment, need help with your resume, or want to expand your job search or interview skills, just drop by and we will be happy to work with you. As well, we encourage the community to support the youth through job referrals, help with Odd Jobs Squad events, attending events, and telling your friends/family about the MYJC.

The Centre will also be holding an Open House on Wednesday, May 28th, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with an official ribbon cutting ceremony taking place at 5:00 pm. The public is invited to drop by and enjoy refreshments, treats, and great company!

I am looking forward to a great summer in our community. If you have any questions or employment needs, please feel free to call (204) 476-3823, email neepawa-myjc@hotmail.com or stop by the 2nd floor MYJC office at the Neepawa County Courthouse, 282 Hamilton Avenue from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

I eagerly await meeting members of the community and hope to hear from you soon!
