Neepawa Collegiate's MSLC 'granted'

Neepawa's efforts to host the 2014 Manitoba Student Leadership Conference are getting the support of Town council.

Council has agreed to grant MSLC $500 from the Town to host the event being hosted next fall, Oct. 16-17, at NACI.

“It's a positive for our community,” Coun. Allan Drysdale noted.
“During those two days we'll see a considerable amount of money put into our businesses and our community.”

Neepawa last hosted MSLC in the early 2000's.

The event aims to instill leadership and planning skills in youth from schools across the province. The conference will feature motivational speakers, as well as group activities for youth participating.

About 150 students and 40 advisors from high schools across the province attended the 2013 conference in Morris.
