Plumas UCW report

Comments

The Plumas UCW met Dec. 11 at 7 p.m. for its last meeting of the fall season.

Following a delicious supper, president Norma Watson opened the meeting with the reading of A Christmas Psalm.

Nine visits to those sick or shut in were reported. Thanks were expressed to Laurel L. For all her work in preparing the church for the Christmas season.

Regarding the Philippine, relief, the UCW has matched our church's donation of $250.

Financially, the tea and bake sale was a great success though numbers seemed to be down.

Correspondence included thank you and receipts from from Calling Lakes and the Counselling Centre; Pat F. will look after the stamps for the Leprosy relief.

Christmas greetings have begun to arrive. Materials for hampers for local distribution will be gathered at both local churches.

As we will not be meeting over the winter months, dates were set for events in those months; 2014.

Pancake supper – 5 p.m., March 4.

World Day of Prayer – March 7; watch for posters for the time of this event.

Soup, bun and pie supper – March 19, 5 p.m.

Next meeting – April 17 at 7 p.m.

Anyone needing the services of the church groups, please contact Laurel Lough at (204) 386-2302.

Wishing all the richest blessings of the season.
