Well either the editor liked my short version 3 weeks ago...or I'm not catching a subtle hint.
Anyway, with what space I have for this week, let's talk Christmas.
Like many, my favourite “season” of the year, is the Christmas/Holiday season.
Those 12 days of Christmas – or 30 days of the holiday season (Dec. 1 begins it, New Year's Eve typically brings an emphatic end) – there's a different feel around.
People are friendlier (although that's never really a problem in the Neepawa area...right?) and more “random acts of kindness” start popping up.
The focus (usually) is on the giving, rather than the receiving (that rule need not apply for anyone 18-and-under...at that age, it's all about the getting).
For a few days around Christmas, everyone's thoughts shifts to their family – either spending it with them, or wishing you'd be able to spend it with them (or how much you hate spending it with them (*cough* in-laws)).
It's the Christmas spirit!
So, from our Neepawa Press family to yours, enjoy it! And a merry Christmas or whatever holiday you partake in.
And, remember, it would never hurt to keep that Christmas spirit in place for the next 300-or-so days until next December.
Until two weeks from now, enjoy the presents and egg nog, keep a smile on your face, and I'll do the same.
