Four games into the season, only one team in each of the Neepawa Basketball League's two divisions remained undefeated at 4-0, while one team in the D-League shares the same honour.
Hamiota, Waray and the D-League's Team Blue continue to prove themselves to be the top of the talent pool in their divisions and leagues with perfect records.
In Neepawa Basketball League action:
Buffalo defeated Isabela 79-64 behind a 20-point effort from Mo Ursua.
The Steelers were led by a 9-point effort from Norman Rosal as they topped Dods Patriots 55-48.
Hamiota remained undefeated as it beat Hymie's Team 66-44.
Hamiota's Villanueva led all scorers with 18 points.
The Canada Patriots were shorthanded to start their game, but kept the match competitive until late where the Portage Beermen pulled away for a 66-53 win. McEachern led the Beermen with five three-pointers and a total of 23 points.
In the upset of the year to-date, new team Cabalen topped three-time defending league champions the Pelicans (formerly the Huskies) 78-73. Cabalen's Erwin Estabillo had 21 points while Raffy Rivera added 19 points to lead the charge.
The Albinos improved to 3-1 with a 68-51 win over the IWC Warriors. The Albinos were led by three players with 15 points – Kyle Lund, Mike Rainee and Kaiten Critchlow.
Waray moved to 4-0 on the season by giving Barako its first loss of the year, with a 83-69 scoreline. Ronald Sumbilla led all scorers with 25 points.
Gilas continued to move up the standings with a convincing 77-53 win over the Mariners. Noriel Dalida scored 20 points to lead the Gilas offense.
The D-League also featured some great games.
Team White topped Team Red by a 52-41 scoreline, with newcomer Patano scoring 16 points to lead all scorers.
In a high-scoring affair, Team Yellow topped Team Green 81-72. The game's high scorer was Green's Julius Posados with 22 points, while Team Yellow featured a more balanced attack led by an 18-point game from Porfirio Alconcel Jr.
IWC weren't able to dethrone the undefeated Team Blue, as Blue came out on top 65-60. Junel Yusuico led the charge for Blue with 14 points.
