Hi everyone summer is rolling right along with weather good and bad and with many events along the way, so I shall try to remember some of them.
Belated sympathy to the families of the late Jim Peeler and Fran Ross.
Residents of McCreary/Alonsa PCH enjoyed their bus trip to Clear Lake on July 24, where they were joined by family members. We had a picnic in the Park, little tours around and, of course, ice cream.
August is shaping up to be a very busy month with many events taking place and visiting going on.
On Aug. 7 a come and go party was held for Luella McMillan - "Queen for the Day" - and we think there were very close to 100 guests who stopped by during the afternoon.
She enjoyed the afternoon very much with family and friends and the highlight for sure was a visit from a childhood friend and bridesmaid Edith MacLeod of Neepawa.
Celebrations taking place on Aug. 10 were a birthday come and go at the Legion Hall for Theresa Nault (a 'high number'), over at the community hall 50th wedding anniversary celebrations were taking place for Betty and Mervin Dunning, and not to be left out, the 60th wedding anniversary celebrations were taking place for Glen and Thelma Burton at the Seniors Center. That's not all, Anne Floyde also had a family reunion going on at her farm site.
Glen and I were very pleased to have our out of town family home for a couple of days namely son Ed Burton, grandson Jason, Grandaughter Candice and Chris of Marathon, Ont., Son Dennis of Saskatoon, Sask., and daughter Lori Burton and sons Joey and Matthew Major of Nipiwan, Sask.
Brother Charles and Lois Werhan of Forest Lake, Minnesota also joined us for the weekend.
McCreary Agricultural Society Annual Fair, Pony, Chariot and Chuckwagons will be held on Aug. 24 and 25. Races start at 6 p.m. Saturday.

On Sunday, Aug. 11, The St. John's Anglican Church celebrated its 100th Anniversary. The day began with Church Service at 11 a.m. followed by dinner and visiting at the Community Centre.
Recent visitors with Jackie and Andre Aucoin, Neil and Jodi Fraser and family were Bobby and Tanille Wilson, Prestyn, Ethan and friend Hailey.
The Kelwood Seniors' next supper is on Aug. 22, 6 p.m.
