The McCreary Mustangs' run in the North Central Hockey League playoffs has been cut short by the Miniota-Elkhorn C-Hawks. The seventh-ranked Mustangs were eliminated in four games by the league's second-ranked C-Hawks in the NCHL quarterfinals. The C-Hawks won Game 1 by a 6-4 score before McCreary pulled off a 6-3 upset in Game 2 in McCreary. Miniota-Elkhorn took control of the series in the next two games though, winning Game 3 by a 10-2 score, and clinching the series with a 9-4 win in Game 4. Despite the loss, the Mustangs finished the season by bringing in some hardware. Rick Scott was voted the league's Most Gentlemanly Player after he finished the season with only four penalty minutes in 20 games played. Scott finished second in Mustangs scoring and sixth in NCHL scoring with 45 points. Teammate Kirby Law led the team in regular season scoring with 18 goals and 54 points, good for fourth overall in the league's scoring race.
