Marcia Ilene Simon, born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 27th, 2013 in her current home of Neepawa, Manitoba. Born May 1st 1956 she was only 56 years of age at the time of her passing. Born the healthy daughter of Clarence and Dawny Scarfe she spent her childhood and young adult years in beautiful Saskatoon alongside her sister and best friend Susan Balliant. Always a prairie resident in her heart, Marcie moved to British Columbia after meeting and marrying the love of her life and partner, Roy Simon. From the time she married Roy until her passing home was where her family resided. Together Marcie and Roy had three children, Taylor, Megan, and Kayla, affectionately referred to as TMK by the family. This was made official in 2010 when she joined her children in getting the letters TMK tattooed on her wrist to honour her family that truly was always the light of her life. Throughout the years the Simon family lived in too many towns and provinces to mention here. While sometimes difficult, this always evolving life created a family bond that meant more to Marcie and her family than any physical abode could ever hope to create. From the British Columbia Coast to Neepawa, Manitoba, the Simon family was the epitome of strength and the power of family to overcome any obstacle or hardship. The last years of her life were filled with happiness and joy that was apparent on her face every single day. Her time was spent travelling to visit her children and her grandchildren who she was grateful to spend weeks on end with. When not visiting her family her time was spent exploring the world with her loving husband Roy and only the photographs can show the fun and joy they shared together exploring new places they had always talked about. She will be remembered most for her amazing smile and ability to create a life long positive impact on peoples lives within only the briefest of meetings. The response to her passing has been nothing short of amazing. The stories and comments that have been shared via Facebook, email, cards, and other messaging platforms has been a testament to her vivacious personality and heart that desired nothing more than to bring love and happiness to those around her. The pure joy she felt in life surrounded by family and friends, side-by-side with her loving husband and partner Roy, could be seen in her trademark smile and heard in her heartwarming laugh. She will be remembered forever for the love she gave and the path of happiness and joy she left in her path. The world would be a better place if just a fraction of her spirit was embodied within everyone. Forever in our hearts and spirits. We love you. *In lieu of flowers, gifts, or cards the family herby requests that those wishing to help honour the memory of Marcie Simon make a donation in her name to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
