Ski trail opened

Photo submitted

Tom Borsa and Jim Harris of Prairie Mountain Snow Drifters were out grooming the now useable ski trails for the first time on Dec. 19.

Leisure Services Manager Amanda Cathcart has been working with both the Prairie Mountain Snow Drifters and the Neepawa Golf and Country Club to stake and groom a cross country ski trail at the Neepawa Golf and Country Club. Cathcart said, “We had an agreement in place last year (with the snow drifters and the golf course) to groom the trail, but we didn’t get enough snow for a decent base.” “This year with the ample amount of snow and excellent skiing conditions residents can take advantage of the newly groomed trail and the beautiful scenery at the golf course.” A map of the trail can be printed from the Town of Neepawa Leisure Services website under Recreational Facilities, Recreational Trails at neepawa.ca/leisure.
