Krzyzaniak makes cut

Kaiten Critchlow/ Neepawa Press

Halli Krzyzaniak has been chosen as one of 20 players to make 2012 Team Manitoba's U18 Program of Excellence squad. Krzyzaniak had previously been one of 22 players chosen for the final evaluation roster that took part in an exhibition series with the University of Manitoba Bisons women's hockey team from Sept. 14-16 in Winnipeg. Team Manitoba won one of the three games played in the mini-series between the two teams. Krzyzaniak played in all three games, registering seven shots and assisting on Team Manitoba's second goal in the team's 2-0 win. The Neepawa talent obviously impressed as she was chosen for the final roster. U18 Team Manitoba is coming off a medal performance as they earned a bronze in the 2011 National Women's U18 Championships. Over the past year, Krzyzaniak has helped lead Team Canada to a World Championship title at the U18 Women's World Championships in Czech Republic in January. More recently, she made headlines after being named the alternate captain for the under-18 women's national team that faced off in a mini-series against Team USA this summer. Halli plays hockey in BC as part of the Pursuit of Excellence hockey program.
