Mark the date of Sunday, Oct. 21 on your calendar. That is the date that Calvin Vollrath, Canada’s Fiddling Sensation is coming to Neepawa’s Roxy Theatre. The show starts at 2 p.m. – tickets are $20 each – rush seating so don’t leave it too long to get your ticket to see this world class performer who routinely has sell-out performances around the world! Last December many in Neepawa will remember how great the Patti Lamoureux concert was. Well this year, Patti and Jeremy Rusu will be Calvin’s special guests along with step-dancer Rhea Labrie. What a great event this is going to be! Calvin is a pleasure to watch on stage, his love for music is contagious and he can bring an audi-ence to their feet. As one lady said after a Calvin Vollrath performance, “If I don’t go to heaven when I die, I’ve been there tonight” and another remarked, “If you can’t dance to that, you better check your pulse”. Calvin is a musical prodigy. To date, he has composed over 450 tunes, many of which have be-come standard contest and dance tunes across North America and Europe. He has to his credit 56 of his own albums, numerous music books of his original compositions and an instructional DVD. Calvin was commissioned to compose five fiddle tunes for the Vancouver Winter Olympics 2010 Opening Ceremonies. Fiddle aficionados certainly know about the exciting talent of Patti Lamoureux and Jeremy Rusu. (NAC TV, Neepawa’s local access television station has DVD’s available of this great performance last December for $10 each.) As well, Calvin’s wife Rhea Labrie, a wonderful stepdancer will be performing. Her lightning fast foot work will leave the audience amazed and shouting for more. Don’t wait too long.
