Arrests made in Crane River F.N. fire

Two male youths, ages 14 and 15, both of Crane River First Nation were arrested and have now each been charged for Arson in connection with the fire to the J.A.R. Centre in Crane River. Both have been released on Recognizance with conditions to appear in Dauphin Court on Nov. 14, 2012. On Sept. 24, shortly after 11:30 p.m., RCMP McCreary Detachment along with the local Fire Department responded to a fire at the J.A.R. Centre in Crane River. Officers arrived on scene and found the Community Centre engulfed in flames. Estimates of damages are not available. However, the building was totally destroyed by the fire. The fire is considered arson. No one was in the building at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries. RCMP along with fire investigators from the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner continue to investigate.
