Scouts Canada of Neepawa adds Ventures group.

Scouts Canada of Neepawa members present the Roxy Theatre with a $1,300 cheque.

After a busy go last year, the Scouts Canada groups of Neepawa are ready to enjoy another exciting year of events. And they will be doing so with a new group forming as part of their program. Much like last year, the Beavers (age 5-7), Cubs (8-10) and Scouts (11-14) groups will be returning this year, this time with the addition of the Ventures group for those age 14-17. “Beavers hopes to teach team building, learning to play effectively together, respect for leaders and each other as well as responsibility. The Cubs aim to make youth better family and community members, and Scouts want to help youth have new experiences, meet new friends and have good memories that will last forever,” Neepawa adult leaders explained in an email interview, adding Ventures members will have similar goals. This year, members of the various groups can look forward to activities such as camping trips, tree planting and barbecues, crafts, nature walks, participation in Neepawa's Christmas parade, helping the community and the always popular Kub Kar Rally. Registration for the groups will be held tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 12 at HMK from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Hazel M. Kellington School during the Meet the Teacher evening.
