The Neepawa Inner Wheel has completed a successful year and is planning for a busy 2012-13 year. We have 18 active members and two honourary members.
The ladies hosted the 35th Annual Rotary Youth Exchange Orientation Weekend in September. 21 students from around the world enjoyed Neepawa’s hospitality for the weekend.
Some of our members attended the “Fun and Friendship” weekend in Regina for our District Annual meeting. November was the Rotary TV auction and Inner Wheel members helped where able.
A roster is planned for our monthly jobs which include planning a program, being the hostess for the meetings and visiting the residents at Country Meadows who have birthdays in the month to deliver a birthday carnation.
We contribute to the Neepawa and District Fine Arts Festival and send a deserving Grade 5 student to Camp Wannakumbac. We also sponsor a Foster Child through Plan Canada.
We were involved with helping the Neepawa Rotary Club host the GSE (Group Study Exchange) from Great Britain in May.
We spent a very interesting weekend showing these people around this area and learning about their home area. We have also enjoyed visiting with Erik, the Rotary long-term exchange student from Switzerland, staying in Neepawa until next month.
The Executive for the 2012-13 year will remain the same as the past year: Past-Chair – Judy Boychuk; Chair - Myra Bennet; Vice-Chair – Pearl Hogarth; Secretary – Marg Wopnford and Trudi McCarthy; Treasurer – Judy Watson; and International Secretary – Donna Newton.
Pat Traill is a Canadian Board member at International Inner Wheel.
We will begin next year with a very busy September as we are hosting “Fun and Friendship” and the District Annual meeting as well as the Annual Rotary Youth Exchange Orientation Weekend.
