Bring Your Manitoba Health Card

When you come to an ARHA facility (whether it is the Emergency Room, Lab and Imaging or Acute Care) it is necessary that you bring your purple Manitoba Health Card and present it at the time you meet with the ARHA staff.

This card holds your personal information which staff must verify to make sure they have your current medical numbers, address, phone number, full name and next of kin.

Within the province of Manitoba a client registry is kept of your information so that all procedures, tests and reports are accurately reported and returned to your correct file.

Staff must check and verify each time to ensure that the accurate information is on record as your phone number, address, etc. may have changed since the last time you were seen or had blood work done.

In our small communities sometimes you may think that staff know you and your name, however they may know you by the name you go by which may not be the name you are actually born or registered with.

It is important to make sure there is one accurate entry on you and not potentially two or three which may not be the accurate information.

To reduce the risk please ensure you bring your card with you each time and provide it to staff so they can update the information. They will then return it to you as soon as the information is confirmed or updated.
