With sorrow we announce the passing of our dear son, brother, and grandson Mark Koszman on January 9, 2012 at the age of 28 years.
Mark was born July 12, 1983 in Oxbow, SK to Trudy and David Koszman. Mark made lasting friendships in his elementary school years in McCreary, and many more during his high school years in Neepawa, MB.
After graduation from high school in 2001, Mark followed his dreams and went out to the Mountains near Jasper, AB to snowboard. He went back to school in 2005 and graduated at Assiniboine Community College with a Civil Technician Certificate. He later went on to complete a diploma in Geomatic Information Systems Technology at Red River College in 2006. He worked in this field as a surveyor, advancing to a crew chief and really enjoyed working outdoors.
Mark will be remembered for his soft-hearted easy-going nature, energetic and fun-loving personality, his great sense of humor and passion for outdoor adventures. He enjoyed snowboarding, mountain biking, paintball, and spending time with friends and loved ones. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Mark was predeceased by his grandparents Sylvia Petersen in 2001, Elmer Petersen in 2009, and Joe Janeczko in 2011; and step-father Floyd Clark in 2010.
Mark is survived by parents Trudy Koszman (Weyburn, SK) and David Koszman, partner Alice Unger (McCreary, MB); sisters Kim Koszman (Winnipeg, MB); and Natalie Styles, husband Dan Styles and children Austin and Samara (Saskatoon, SK); grandmother Ethel Koszman (Earl Grey, SK); girlfriend Nicole Kozak (Neepawa, MB); aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many friends.
The funeral service was held on January 14, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, Neepawa, MB with Pastor Mark Just officiating. Pallbearers were Chris Clausen, Brian Petersen, Jonathon Flaman, Jeffery Flaman, Ryan Ewasiuk, and Doug Stinchcombe. The interment followed on January 16, 2012 at Nordalen Cemetery, Lake Alma, SK with Pastor Martin Olson officiating. Pallbearers Dan Styles, Chris Clausen, Michael Clausen, Brian Petersen, Lorne Petersen, and Tom Clausen.
White's Funeral Home (Neepawa, MB) was in care of the funeral arrangements, and RD Family Funeral Chapel & Crematorium (Weyburn, SK) assisted in the internment arrangements.
Donations in Mark’s memory can be made to the Brandon Regional Health Authority Foundation or a charity of choice.
