As of Tuesday morning, former Neepawa mayor Ken Waddell officially filed his nomination papers for the office of mayor of Neepawa.
"Many people asked me to run and I had many, many people sign my nomination papers," Waddell said.
Waddell served as Neepawa's mayor from 1998 to 2002.
"Experience is important in the mayor's job but it takes vision as well," Waddell said.
Waddell added his five priorities for his campaign are to set up a long-term infrastructure plan, address the housing shortage, maintain sustainable growth, improve how council works and improve the town's image.
Earlier this month, Murray Parrott resigned his councillor's seat with the intent of running for the mayor's position. Another former mayor in Bob Durston - who followed Waddell in office from 2002-2010 - has also announced his intent to run for the position.
