Dylan Link scored four times to help his No. 1 ranked NACI Tigers club hammer No. 3 ranked Major Pratt Trojans of Russell 12-4 in Westman AA High School Hockey play last week.
After a deadlocked opening 15 minutes, Tigers captain Tieler Fenning-Cox managed to solve Trojan netminder Nolan Frieze on a setup from Blair Krulkewich and Bret Levandoski. Despite the close first, a late first period powerplay goal by Travis James opened the flood gates for the Tigers.
In the second, despite giving up a goal during a five-minute powerplay for the Trojans, the Tigers roared back with five goals including a pair from Link.
Mathew Sneesby, Wyatt Salmon and Levandoski each had a goal in the five-goal outburst.
In the third, the trio of Link, Kyle McDonald and James put on a clinic for the Trojans with McDonald and Link each picking up a pair of goals in the frame.
Link and McDonald each finished the game with six points. Link with four goals and two assists while McDonald added two goals and four helpers.
Grant Graham picked up the win between the pipes for the Tigers.
The Tigers were handed 13 penalties including a major and a game misconduct for a checking from behind penalty. The Trojans made the trip to the penalty box ten times all with minors.
As of Nov. 29, the Tigers were ranked first in the MHSAA AA Hockey Division with the Boissevain Broncos ranked second and the Trojans in third. Minnedosa Chancellors are ranked fifth.
