QUESTION OF THE WEEK

To Ehr is Human

Jake recently decided that he was going to be a puppy for a few hours.
It all started with crawling across the entire house on all fours and Jake ‘woofing’. Then that turned into me not being allowed to call him Jake, I was told to call him puppy.

Well, puppy Jake decided to show me some tricks that he could do and how well behaved a puppy he was by rolling over, shaking paws and sitting.
You have to love a little boys’ imagination. When it came supper time, he carried on the act.

How you ask?

He ate little "treats" of food out of my hand. I continued to play along and then gave a bowl with his supper in it to him, eating without hands was much more fun for him. Jake, oh sorry, puppy’s face was covered with food and a grin spread wide making this play time game well worth it.

This was such a fun thing for Jake to do, you could just tell by the joy in his playing.
Eventually my puppy turned back to my little boy who snuggled into my chest and decided that drinking water out of a cup with hands was easier than lapping it out of a bowl.

In the words of Dallas, our boy can put a smile on anyone’s face, especially ours, and he is a unique, smart, fun loving little boy, who can find joy in anything, and make games lots of fun for anyone.

This past weekend I was the clumsiest I have ever been.

I was washing my floor and when wringing out my mop, the entire bucket spilled all over my kitchen floor. The water ran under my stove, china cabinet, under the table, from one end of the kitchen to the other.

Oh, how a tearful laughter helps to make a person feel better.
And what did I do during that mess?

Bleach my best towels of course, not thinking in my panic of cleaning up the huge spill.

Then, because the third time is the charm (right?), I locked myself out of the house.
Yep, no hidden spare key for this girl. It was a good thing I had a window open, and access to a ladder to get into my house.

Note to self for next time: check the doorknob before going out with Jake to play, it might save some hassle.

Well, at least at the end of the day I can either laugh or cry about these moments, and what’s the point of crying right?

So I laugh, and smile, because at the time they seem big, but they are only miniscule in the entire picture.
