The search was continuing yesterday for a 67-year old district woman who disappeared from her Mountain Road home July 10. Neighbours in the district said the woman is Mrs. Nick Kindrat, who resided with her husband and daughter, Miss. Jessie Kindrat, four and a half miles Northeast of Mountain Road. R.C.M.P. detachments from Minnedosa and McCreary have been directing the search from between 150 and 200 assisting in combing the wooded countryside in the hope of discovering the women alive. M.J. A small outboard motorboat passed slowly up and down the length of Park Lake Thursday evening spreading copper sulphate through the water of the lake and raising hopes for finding an early solution to the odor problem in the town's water supply.
Tests conducted earlier this week by the department of health sciences revealed that the algae concentration in Park Lake is small enough to make treatment practical.

Doug Hockin, chief of the "Hawkeye" tribe had last minute doubts as to whether he would be able to participate in Neepawa's parade, as he had entered the Brookdale parade the previous week and when the long trek was over, his horse, exhausted, had laid down and rolled over damaging the rocking chair. It was fixed in time for the Neepawa parade and Mr. Hockin delighted and amazed more onlookers with his unconventional "saddle".

Proposed amalgamation of the provinces school divisions has already drawn protest from the Manitoba Teachers Society. Teachers Society president Jan Speelman said if divisions amalgamate, more teachers will be transfered against their will since the new divisions will be geographically larger.
"Transfer of teachers is a big issue, "if you are going to expect teachers to suddenly
leave their home (town) and drive and hour and a half, they have to be paid more compensation," said Speelman.
