Jake's love of outdoors has now flowed its way to the swimming pool.
He cannot get enough of jumping off the diving board, going down the slide and floating around in the water.
I took him to Neepawa's pool on Canada Day and we splashed around and giggled. He grasped onto me for dear life when we first started the slide. But he fell in love with the rush of going down it. The joy in his eyes and wide spread smile across his face was priceless. Trying to get him to leave was like tearing a band-aid off of a fresh wound though. He cried and cried, but suddenly cheered up when grandma said she would bring him the next day.
All I hear about at home is how much he loves swimming. At his daycare they have a blowup water-slide that he also loves. I now call Jake my little fish, I think it's quite suitable.
I had success last weekend in finally finishing my garden. Yes I know it took me two months, but with this crazy weather, I'm amazed I managed to even get my corn in which was the last thing left to plant. I cannot wait for garden fresh veggies, I love how crisp and crunchy they are, and Jake's favourite is peas, so I know we will spend a lot of time in there eating them, and I'm happy with that. Any child who likes vegetables is a small victory in my opinion.
Thank you Dallas for your help with all that I couldn't do the last week due to injury, I appreciated it more than you know.
And my favourite part of the last week was Jake being so proud of all his paintings. Every time he finished one, he would excitedly put it up on the fridge and come over to me and say mommy look. So i would hug him and tell him how beautiful it was. 'Mommy, I made it just for you'. Awe Jake, you're the best.
