Tibbett powers Farmers to split with Marlins

Threes were wild as the Neepawa Farmers split a pair of MSBL games with the Brandon Marlins on Sunday.
The Farmers struck with three in the third, fifth and eighth innings to hang on for a 9-7 victory over the Marlins.

Josh Loewen went seven innings giving up five hits while striking out nine for the win.
Isaac Rodriguez came on in the bottom of the seventh in relief for the Farmers, pitching two innings giving up three hits and a pair of runs while striking out three.
The fifth inning was the turning point for the Farmers, who had battled back from 2-0 and 5-3 deficits.

Cam Tibbett led the Farmers’ 14-hit attack going 4-5 including a pair of doubles and two RBIs.

Shane Henton and Ty Magotiaux also connected for a pair of RBIs.
Brian Krahler went seven innings for the Marlins and was tagged for the loss. Krahler gave up 11 hits, walking seven while striking out two.
In the other matchup, Eric Zamrykut scattered five hits to lead the Marlins to a 9-1 pounding of the Farmers.

Derrick McGorman went four innings giving up five hits with Jason Vinnell coming on in relief. Vinnell gave up five runs on nine hits over four innings while striking out four.
The lone offensive bright spot for the Farmers was a fifth inning solo home run by Tibbett.
