I would like to start off my column this week by thanking the Neepawa Fire Department for allowing Jake to look at the No. 1 fire truck last week.

On a walk to grandma’s house, the warning siren went and Jake excitedly shouted fire truck, seeing as how we were close to the hall I decided to take him and see the trucks leave to the call.

The first one had already left when we arrived, so we waited to see if the second one was to go out as well. When the call came that the first truck was coming back, Jake wanted to wait and see it come back. We stood to the side and Jake kept wanting to go inside the fire hall to see the trucks. After the truck came back, one of the firemen came over and asked if he would like to see.

A big smile crossed Jake’s face and we headed to the truck. Fear came across him though when asked if he would like to go inside. Well, maybe next time when he’s a bit older he won’t be as scared and we can have the opportunity again.

The fire trucks is all he talked about for days, so thank you Neepawa Fire Department for creating a great memory for Jake!

Once again, I thought I would be able to get into my garden, and literally as Jake and I were getting ready to go outside, guess what happened? Rain, when will it ever stop?
What is it about Mac N’ Cheese that kids go wild for?
Every weekend I ask Jake what he would like for lunch, and I always get the same answer.
Wow can he power back macaroni. Thank you KD for making lunchtime easy.
How many pairs of jeans can my husband go through when chasing cattle throughout the countryside?

Approximately four, after running through ditches full of water and mud. But good job honey, you did the laundry by yourself, I’m so proud of you.

At grandma’s house Jake turns into the biggest flirt ever. There we are eating supper, and my mom asks Jake if he would like ice cream. He bats his eyelashes and smiles, tucking his head in a little bit, no answer, just the eyes. My mom and I burst out laughing.
Oh boy is he starting young. Thanks mom for loving my son, and agreeing with me that he really is the cutest character of late.
