QUESTION OF THE WEEK

Gladstone students ready, able and very willing

As summer approaches and school is beginning to wind down for the year, students are anxious and excited to begin earning some extra money.
In Gladstone, many students have registered with the Manitoba Youth Job Centre’s Odd Job Squad and will be getting ready to participate in the first Odd Job Squad event of the summer. The annual Donut Drive will begin June 8.
Students, ages 12 to 16, are encouraged to come to the Gladstone Manitoba Youth Job Centre (MYJC) to pick up their forms for the sale. Be sure to watch for your local Odd Job Squad member as they will be selling donuts around Gladstone and surrounding areas
The Neepawa MYJC will also be starting their Dessert Sales.
The sale will begin on June 7 and will run until June 30. The dessert sales will include: cheesecake, cookie dough, and carrot cake. Watch for your local Odd Job Squad member to place your dessert order!
Aside from the Odd Job Squad, the Gladstone and Neepawa MYJC offices offer additional assistance to youth ages 16 to 29, who are seeking employment.
Many employers have placed job orders with the MYJC’s and those looking for employment are strongly encouraged to contact your local MYJC office in order to receive full details of employment opportunities.
Also, if you are seeking assistance with creating or enhancing your resume, the MYJC will assist you in this process as well.
The Gladstone and Neepawa MYJC’s also want to encourage employers and homeowners to call their local MYJC or stop by the office in order to find employees for full-time, part-time, or casual employees.
Any questions or suggestions? In Gladstone: contact Stephanie at the Gladstone MYJC at 385-3197 or email the centre at myjcgladstone@live.ca.
In Neepawa: contact Jocelyn at the Neepawa MYJC at 476-3823 or email the centre at myjc-neepawa@hotmail.com.
